We stayed in a creek side cabin for 4 nights as a splurge. Everything was great except for one thing, the restaurant (Cress). It was super pricey which we were fine with, but it didn’t come with pricey service. While waiting for our room to be ready, we sat on the near deck and ordered a burger. Met friends for Sunday Brunch and had a wonderful experience. Everything about Cress on Oak Creek was perfect! We ate outside and the day was cool but we were comfortable because they have heaters tucked out of view. We can heartily recommend the tuna tartar on a bagel and the green juice. I made a reservation to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary and noted that in my booking. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We were seated at a table next to the service door, and the host who seated us had such strong body odor that it was unpleasant each time he walked by. Our server greeted us with a complimentary champagne toast, which was a nice gesture, but then disappeared for over 30 minutes after taking our appetizer and drink order. We made reservations for outdoor seating. Before we arrived we were notified that our reservation was moved indoors. We thought it was due to weather but when we were seated we saw other people sitting outside. The food was mediocre. The portions were very small and the menu was limited. The compressed watermelon was supposed to come with arugula microgreens and it was served with microgreens that were definitely not arugula (maybe celery?).
