I am an African American female, who was a temporary tenant of one of this business properties. My roommate who had the lease agreement with the landlord decided to move out. In applying for a new place to live, Larson was listed as a reference. When contacted Larson failed to give accurate, professional information defaming my character and reputation as a renter. She doesnt normally rent to African Americans unless they are with someone white.
Business response:
Ms. ****** was not a temporary tenant. She was, in fact, a joint tenant on the lease. When a prospective landlord called for a reference, which Ms. ****** had authorized by signature, we provided accurate information. In our 150+ properties, we rent to many African Americans and do not discriminate against any race. We wholeheartedly adhere to Fair Housing laws.
