I had the Hairmax but stopped using it after about five months. I found I was fighting time, it was a pain to use and brushing your hair for 10 minutes gets tiring. Although I think the HairMax probably does work I just couldn't take the time needed to consistently use the device. The BrightPad on the other hand didn’t require any effort to use. I use it in bed!
