Absolutely not equipped to treat children. He had the tech hold my two year olds head while he pried his eyes open. The next two appts with him were a complete waste of time as my son was traumatized and wanted to get away from him the whole time. We switched to a Boston children’s hospital site and it was a total game changer, my son did excellent and was able to happily complete the exam with zero issues but unfortunately one of his eyes had gotten much worse, though dr. I had a very unpleasant eye appointment for my daughter with Dr Larcocca. The office staff and assistants were exceptional! I brought her there for screening to rule out any signs of a corneal disease which my husband has. He was extremely rude to me and talked down. He had no idea who the corneal transplant doctor in town was or that treatment could be offered if something was found at my daughters age. I will never return and go for yearly follow ups else where!

I feel compelled to write a review after reading several bad reviews about this Dr. I don’t understand where those reviews came from because we had a wonderful experience here. I took my 6month old to see Dr. LaRocca today and he was incredibly kind and patient. I found that he and his whole staff were very friendly and helpful. He had a good sense of humor and was very knowledgeable and reassuring. I would happily recommend him to anyone in need of a pediatric ophthalmologist!

This is worse doctor I have ever seen in my life. I have bring my 3 yr old daughter to him, but there is no toys or anything for babies. His check up process was terrible, as he and his staff are forcefully trying to see her eyes. He is rude and do not bother to explain. More over his diagnosis is wrong, when I check with other eye specialist. He will make my daughter blind.

We saw Dr. Larocca with our 3 year old son for Strabismus (an eye turn). At first he recommended that our son wear glasses (even though they said he had perfect vision). As soon as we told him our son was fighting wearing them, his whole demeanor changed & after wasting time/money on several appointments and buying glasses, he told us he had never worked with a child that gave him such a hard time & that we needed to get a second opinion somewhere else! Horrible bedside manor for a pediatric dr.

Dr LaRocca is very patient and kind with children. He's also very thorough and not an alarmist. Some moms want that but not me! My daughter loves him!

I had to take my 13 month old son to see this doctor for a blocked tear duct and both times I saw him he was rude, mean and not good with my son AT ALL! He rolled his eyes when I asked questions about my son's possible surgery and treated my son as if he'd never worked with a child in his life. I don't know what baby likes to be held down and have his eyes poked at but he made me feel like my son's squirming was annoying and not common. He shouldn't work with kids if that's how he acts.

Dr. Larocca has terrible bed side manners. Some of his comments and reactions to my questions still haunt me. My surgery was not 100% successful and he failed to believe that at first. We finally came to an agreement at 2 months post op. On my last apt. I was refracted by one of his younger employees. I ended up with a wrong prescription and refused to go back. I paid out of pocket for my optometrist and now my glasses are perfect.
