Larkspur is comfort. Dinners begin with appetizers like celery bisque and salmon carpaccio, proceed into entrees such as black truffle lasagna and porcini-dusted beef tenderloin, and end with desserts like the peanut butter Brownie Napoleon or the 23 Karat Carrot Cake. Lunch is similarly great, but features a number of gourmet pizzas and sandwiches (as well as a whole new selection of desserts). A kids menu features high-end takes on burgers, mac & cheese and pepperoni pizza. A special bar menu brings out the kid in all of u... read more

Food was good - service was terrible! – We own a house in Vail and get up there 6-7 times a winter - even more in the summer. We have is almost always had good food at Larkspur - but have never had even "good" service - this last time was no different. We went to dinner a few weeks ago with 2 other couples and had to wait for our table for 15 minutes - didn't get drinks until 20 minutes of sitting down - then our food was cold (I personally blame service - my wife thought it was kitchen). Good wine list - but our server didn... read more
Best dining experience I could ask for – I dined with my boyfriend at Larkspur last Sunday night, the last night of our vacation in Vail. I can honestly say that we had a wonderful experience. From the elegantly prepared food, the extensive wine list, the excellent service, and the relaxed atmosphere, this restaurant has it all. The food was so delicious! This will be one of our best memories of Vail and I highly recommend it to everyone!
Subtly upscale, the ambiance is a perfect backdrop for brilliant food. – In Short It's a restaurant and bar and gourmet market. The market is the place to pick up everything from breakfast and sandwiches to entire dinners. The bar scene is the place to meet for a drink, appetizers and light dishes. The restaurant serves decadent dishes such as ethereal foie gras atop orange french toast, duck spring rolls or tuna carpaccio. Dessert ends the feast with flare. The standout is fried miniature donuts and mocha sabayon.
Great date place – This restaurant was the best experience I had in Vail on my most recent visit. The interior is cool and inviting, the server was the best I have EVER had, and I made a point to tell the managers of his abilities. The food was tasty and the wine list was impeccable. Not everyone can afford $1000 bottles and the selection was broad and user friendly. While the restaurant was jammed we never felt neglected nor rushed. I am waiting until I can return again.
Smooth Operator – Larkspur exceeds expectations as a top mountain restaurant. The food is well prepared and professionally presented. Well done.
Elegance in Ski Country – A fabulous restaurant with very contemporary feel. Dined at Christmas with a tasting menu with wine tasting for each course. Food was innovative, perfectly prepared. Server was young & had a bit of an attitude, but everyone else was fantastic, particularly the wine steward who was terrific and knowledgeable. All in all, a superior dining experience in a town where there are many good experiences.
Don't waste your – Right idea, wrong everything else. Over priced...Wine selection is ok, but there is still too much low end in the book. Too many other better options in town to waste a night at this poor restaurant.
