Honestly, they could do better. Can't find any nurses, can't find anyone in charge, everyone just giggles off to the side. There's no compassion or care. Yeah, it's a tough job, but when people have issues, you just don't nod and disappear for 4 hours. The care is horrible. The staff are lazy, my aunt is trying to get better and leave so she can live her life, and it seems like no one cares. She's having medical complications and the nurses just seem to blow it off. In my exhaustive search to find a suitable facility for my disabled sister, I was lucky enough to find Aviata at Bryan Dairy. My sister has now lived there for 16 months and she is thriving. Activities, physical therapy, social events like Bingo, holiday celebrations, church services, and even nail care day. She has a wonderful roommate and lots of new friends. My sister was here for three weeks and ended up having to go to the hospital because she had MRSA. The medical care provided by Heather Germann was horribly lacking… She assumed my sister‘s condition was entirely due to obesity, but at the hospital, they discovered a massive ovarian cyst that explained many of her problems.Her personal effects like her cell phone were not sent with her and now no one can find them. After calling a handful of rehab facilities for my father to continue care before bringing him home with us to Texas, we finally found an angel, Noel, the Admissions Director and liaison. From the very beginning to the day my dad left, the entire experience was wonderful. The compassion Noel showed not only to my dad but to our whole family was truly outstanding. Food is always a problem at these places. It is clean and the staff is helpful. The nurses are great. I just resent the fact that they start right away with long term placement..and that is not always the best option.
