If you want to experience why socialized healthcare is a bad idea then come to this clinic. Every appointment you come to will be an hour wait and you will spend 3 hours here. There is no sense of urgency. If the doc forgets to put in your referrals your stay here will be even longer. Labs won’t let you draw a ticket until 0805 even though the machine lets you draw a ticket at 0800.
They never answer the phone for optometry at LaPointe so you should go up there check their hours because they leave early. The lady behind the counter is rude so brace yourself and try to get through it. The guy who orders you glasses is a great asset to the team so at least you have some common decency support.
Labs will tell you they open at 0800 however you can’t check in until 0805. If you are fasting they will tell you to not eat after 2000 if you plan on coming in at 0800. The wait time will be so long that you could get away with eating at 2100, 2200….maybe even 2300. The lab wait time is brutal. Only one person working and it takes 15-20 minutes per person so unless you are 1st in line clear your morning schedule.
