We were new to the Hartsville area in July 2009. We had several delays in our house hunting. All together, we spent four months in motels waiting to close on our house. We have 2 English Springer Spaniels and an Orange Tabby cat. Our stay at the Landmark Inn was most pleasant. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. I was here a few years ago. The entire atmosphere was unclean....just nasty. In addition, there was no phone service in the room. When asked, they replied "the phone company is looking into this." We never did get phone service and they did not offer to compensate us for the incovenience. I lived in the area when this hotel was first built. Believe you me its been paid for several times over. The owner (Ferns) need to make major improvements to this establishment. I haven't been back and would suggest you never check in.

Hotel can use a lot of updating. Long walk from parking lot. Smells like an older hotel. Staff can work on being polite. We stayed at this hotel during Thanksgiving 2006. It was not a pleasant stay at all.The hotel uses regular keys. My children found a key and we used it in the lock just for grins....it worked. Needless to say I was then worried for my safety the rest of the stay. I only remained due to my pet. It was the only hotel in the area that allowed pets. No blow dryer in the room.
