I bought a house and the seller chose Land Title for the title company. Two months after the closing I received a $388 water bill from the city which included a bunch of charges and late fees from before I took ownership. I did receive a $65 credit at the time of closing, but that wasn't even close to covering the charges I didn't make. I contacted Land Title about it several times, but they never explained how the credit was determined or offered to compensate me for the charges that weren't mine.
