Gays, stay away. I experienced discrimination from LLI management, judgmental of singles or those traveling without a male partner. After meeting the staff at brunch the first day with my female partner, their attitude shift was palpable though nothing happened until we left. After check out they attempted to charge us for the decanter of liquor in the room, which we were assured was complimentary and was refilled without a price tag at each housekeeping service. A great place to stay in Carmel. The location is very close to the beach and in the middle of it all with respect to shopping, eating, socializing in the Carmel downtown core. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable. The hotel is a conversion from an old large house so it is not purpose built as a hotel - some quirks are to be expected. Loved the fire place and the ability to light a fire in the evening (if visiting in winter this is a unique feature of the rooms).
