I went to see Dr Sekhar after an MRI discovered my daily dizziness was coming from my left vestibular artery in my brain that was pushing against my number eight cranial nerve. I did substantial research and found him through reviews. He is absolutely the best neurosurgeon in the state and probably in the top five in the country. His bedside manner was unreal. Definitely knows what he’s doing and would highly recommend you at least consult with him.

I was told by 3 other neurosurgeons, including a top neurosurgeon at Mayo that I was 'in big trouble' with a 16 cm 'inoperable'cavernous right frontal/temporal meningioma. I knew I wasn't going out like that. I was BLESSED to get in see Dr Sekhar. Just before surgery, he prayed with me and my husband. As I was being wheeled into the OR, my last words to Dr Sekhar were 'Will I ever be a nurse again?' His answer was'I HOPE so.' One year later and I'm still a Registered Nurse. I've been a RN for 26 years. Now I'm just a WAY bet... read more

He recommends a MRI Scan without even seeing me first to understand my symptoms in depth in order to prescribe the right MRI scan for me personally. I value his skills and experience, but not sure why he wouldn't hear my symptoms and diagnosis me in person before recommending a MRI Scan.

Dr Sekhar was my second opinion and my final choice when it came to an acoustic neuroma. I saw two more opinions after him that had different approaches and procedures, but he was patient to answer my further questions both via email and phone call. There came a time that I nervously put off the surgery, but no complications or adverse symptoms occurred and I always felt 100% confident with Dr Sekhar. I won't forget his kindness, his steady hand, and his time. Audrey, his PA, rocks!!!

Dr. Sekhar saved my life by putting 2 clips in for my 1.1 cm, very large brain anuerysm . I will be forever grateful to this very skilled surgeon. The nurse (Pamela, not Pam as she corrected me) was another story. Berating me until I was in tears for smoking, I quit the day before surgery 4 years ago but the last thing I needed was the stress of her scolding me right before the surgery. I'm alive to complain about this nurse due to this great man...thank you Dr. SEHKAR

Dr. Ask her saved my life when I had a ruptured brain aneurysm, he then found more before they ruptured. He is very skilled in what he does, his staff for the most part is awesome!

I had a large vestibular schwanoma excised in Jan 2015. Thanks to Dr Sekhar and Harborbview rehab I am walking, talking, swallowing and smiling (a little crooked, but who cares!). Dr Sekhar and his efficient team (except for 1 Nurse practitioner) were skilled, compassionate and approachable. As an RN, I am aware when care is less than perfect. Dr Sekhar, you are 100% in my book.

There are three things to look up; Hubris, Anesthesia Dolorosa, Second Opinion. We have had the second for 3 years with 24/7 pain and no hope of correcting that. The last we wished we would have gotten before the surgery. Dr Sekhar performed the surgery and in the five month follow up, never diagnosed the condition. Swedish Hospital took 30 minutes to do so and confirmed that there is no fix.

The best neurosurgeon. I saw him 15 years ago (oh my!) and he saved my life. I lived in Boston, but was visiting Virginia when I had my annie. I was sad to see him move cross country but Seattle is very lucky to have this man.
