nice...but special?? – lala rokh is tucked away in a lovely little spot on beacon hill. the food is quite good, but frankly the place didn't live up to my expectations. i don't see why everyone thinks it's so romantic! it's pretty, and the decor is elegant and tasteful, but somehow it's to "new and pastelly" to strike me as romantic. also, if you like this sort of food, helmand (afghani place near the cambridgeside galleria) has similar cuisine but with much more sublime flavor!
persian delight – The service was fantastic, and our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the food. The meal itself was good on whole. The Sir, or sun aged garlic, was drenched in Balsamic vinegar which we were not aware of. It would have been much better without the vinegar. My dish, duck legs with pomegranate and a walnut sauce, was excellent, but the walnut sauce was a bit too heavy and there was too much of it for my liking. The wine selection was descent and the chocolate moose cake was very good. Your files are a... read more
Romantic and Delicious – Lala Rokh deserves the praise people have heaped on it here. Ignore the comments about the staff-- we couldn't have had a better service experience. The food and wine were out of this world. Give it a try!
WOW!!! – Wow, this place IS all that it's cracked up to be. We were a party that kept growing and they were so nice to accomodate us. The food was unreal and the staff was so informative about the wine list and the menu. Finally when we got the bill we were even more surprised with the reasonable price. We are going back again next weekend with other friends. One thing I would reccomend is using the valet, which we forgot to do.
Spectacular – "The food is tremendous and so is the Staff. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic restaurant. I've never been disapointed. Keep up the Great work!
Love the Fessenjen – I have eaten here several times with my father who was in the Peace Corps in Iran in the late 60's. I LOVE the Fessenjen which they prepare with the most tender duck, and he found the rest of the food to be incredibly authentic. The owners and the ambiance are wonderful as well.
LaLa is YaYa – I love this restaurant because the food is excellent and very authentic. BUT the restaurant is definitely NOT romantic (the heading for citysearch) and is not a place of quiet conversation. The seating is quite tight and you can hear every single word from the nearby tables. I am NOT saying it is an unappealing place to eat. It is very nice and very comfortable. The surroundings are very relaxing and the waitstaff is very attentive. This is an excellent restaurant and well worth hunting down a parking space or... read more
Got to be kidding !! – I recently went to Lala Rokh based on the review of this website as a romantic restaurant. I have to say I was totally disappointed. It wasn't romantic at all and food wasn't all that great either. It was too bright, too loud and the tables are too crowded. You can hear every conversation of 7 or 8 tables around you. The Venison kabobs that I had were great but the side of plain/boring grilled veggies were disappointing. I am not giving up on this list just yet though.
exotic, complex, excellent – a wonderful experience, savored the entire time, food, atmosphere, wish I could have eaten more!
