As a new member, new homeowner, I got to play the course for the 1st time on Good Friday. I am a Canadian that has spent the last eight winters in Florida. We were residents/members at River Strand, another beautiful Lennar golfing community. I have to say, I am not at all disappointed in Lakewood National. Played this Course from the tips and really enjoyed the course itself. Pretty forgiving off the tee but a lot of un even lies. The greens have plenty of slope and are firm. The only negative I have is the Pace of play was extremely bad and there was no ranger on course to help try and speed some groups up. I will be back again. Hopefully pace is better
A tale of 2 nines. Tee to green the course is pretty much what you see is what you get with a handful of blind shots. The day I played the pin locations on the back 9 were tough. As in someone pissed off the superintendent tough. All in all a fun course to play and definitely will again. One minor suggestion. Make sure the starter clarifies which tee is which. Tees boxes have colors and the score card has names.
We found it to be a challenging course, yet playable by anyone. The greens are large and beautiful surface. Absolutely recommend it for anyone.
