The customer service team is the worst.
The customer service is terrible. They have no real want to help a customer. Incompetent incompetent incompetent.
How many of you are selling a home and still have electric and water service on? Lakeland electric provide those and Solid waste. Sure you have to pay for the water and the electric because they have a meter. It measures the usage. Then there is the solid waste. Two cans YOU physically take to the curb to have them pick up and empty. When you LIVE in a home you have to have your trash and recycles picked up. BUT how about when YOU DO NOT live in the home. Unfairly targeting their solar customers with a peak demand rate while regular customers aren't subject to this rate. Asked whether solar customers are charged this rate when its rainy or on a cloudy day during m-f peak when solar can't generate and got a reply that the peak demand is charged no matter what the weather conditions are. So when solar customers cant produce due to weather, this is the time that Lakeland Electric makes they money at over $5 a kWh. Completely unfair and nothing but a bunch of money grabbers!
Wish I could fire them. Disconnect happy to raise profits. Never got a bill, sent check they returned then disconnect. Charged me $55 for cutting their seal ( I have medical equipment. ) TERRIBLE service to retired people. Also pristine records. They are providing a profit stream for bad customer service to old people on purpose. Worst Electric company I have ever been with ever.
My experience with this company has been absolutely TERRIBLE. If there were ANY other power company available, I would use them. Between myself and my 2 coworkers' accounts, we have been disconnected FOUR times in the last few months... from anything from their CSR's FAILURE to mail the lady a paper bill when requested (old people don't do e-bills, guys!) to a problem with an account such that we would've somehow known to pay MORE THAN OUR BALANCE to keep the lights on!! The good citizens of lakeland need to know that they are paying for gas and maintenance of company vehicles that are being used by employees to sneak around on their spouses during working hours while co-workers and supervisors cover for them. Fraternization etc. You pay for them to do a job that is not properly done as a result of underhanded antics, this information came directly from a power plant worker. thats what you pay for. Lakeland Electric is terrible! We paid our bill online last night and for some reason the payment wasn't going through, so we decided to wait until the morning. Lo and behold, 10:30am, they shut our power off! So I call up there, make my payment (late fee included since I couldn't speak with a manager because apparently EVERYONE needs a manager because LAKELAND ELECTRIC IS THE WORST!) and the service rep tells me I can only pay the outstanding balance and then I must either pay online (using the same broken system that got m... read more
My daughter lives in Orange Park, Fl. near Jacksonville. Her electric bill for a house that is three times as big as ours in Lakeland is half of what we pay monthly. Lakeland electric is extremely overpriced.
