I just had Ben out to discuss the balancing of the A/C in my house. The front of the house remains much warmer than the rear of the house during the intense heat of summer. Rather than take advantage of the situation and charge me for new duct work or more air returns in the house, Ben suggested an easy fix, of purchasing a $40 sensor to add to my existing Nest thermostat to place in the warmer part of the house. A company recently offered us a free “tune-up” of our heat pump system. Most of the system is probably as old as the house (1975?) and hasn’t worked well for years. Until recently, we had a worthless home warranty company that had their contractors do as little as necessary to keep the system running. Ben and his experienced crew were awesome and extremely detailed in explaining the issue we were having with our central heating system. One of his competitors quoted $7500 to install a new compressor. I called Ben for a second opinion. He confirmed the compressor was bad. However, he advised us that he could install a new unit and have it installed the next day for the price "the other guys" wanted to install just the compressor. Ben and crew did a phenomenal job on my downstairs system. Very thoughtful, his approach was thorough and the entire system has changed the experience inside my home. I had my upstairs system done by another company with a bird on the trucks (G) and honestly, Lake hills service and equipment blows theirs out of the water. I should've went local back then, but glad I did now. 5 stars all day!
My heater broke down on New Year's Eve, but despite the holiday, they were very responsive. Ben arranged for a technician, Randy, to come out on New Year's Day. Randy was friendly, professional, and took the time to thoroughly explain the situation. The next day, they returned to fix the problem, and everything was up and running smoothly by the afternoon.
