Founded in 1987 by brothers Russ and Jim Klisch, Lakefront was one of the first microbrews in Milwaukee amongst the beer behemoths like Miller and Pabst. The brewery is a favorite among locals and visitors alike due to its tasty ales, lagers, seasonal beers, root beer and even a special gluten-free beer that has garnered much attention. The brewery offers tours on the weekend as well as a Friday night fish fry, a Milwaukee tradition.

Great beer! Great tour! We had a blast.
Fun tour. Ok beer. – This place is located in downtown Milwaukee right next to the Milwaukee River. The tour was pretty fun (although I don't remember any slide) and seemed to be aimed toward the early 20 something college crowd. They give you beer while you go through the tour and a free beer glass at the end of the tour. Great beer, great experience... a Must--do! – The guy who ran the tour was awesome! The fact that you only pay about $6 for 4 beers is great! It was my first time in Milwaukee and I cannot wait to go on another Lakefront Brewery Tour!
All the beer you can drink, and a slide! – A pair of brothers run Lakefront Brewery and keep the atmosphere fun and friendly. You sort of think that it's an extension of their frat days, but they're not pretentious enough to have ever been frat boys. They're just two good ol' Milwaukee boys, brewin' beer and givin' it to their customers via tours that spend more time near the tap than the brewery itself.
