As of winter 08/09, East Sides long-term care (not rehab but long-term) is very bad news. Word around town (we talk to caretakers at CBRFs and hospitals) is that the nursing staff is the core problem. The Attitude is palpable. The good caretakers leave quickly for a better facility. The bad ones sneer "You can do that yourself!" to disabled patients, demand to know whether you have a medical background if you, as a family member, dare to question the care or offer insight into your loved ones condition, and they leave diabet... read more
My experience with Lakewood has been very poor. Nurses seem to not pay much attention to their clients and residents do not enjoy being there. I feel it is poorly managed and in need of a definite attitude ajustment
My grandmother is a resident of the home. Many times she tells me she has not been showered. My mother showers her once a week when she visits. They tell me she is on a schedule and even told me the days, but they can not produce the documentation stated it was done or that she has refused. Staff are very rude. Bed sheets are not changed as often as they state. I wish I can get her out of there!
