Beware I ended my ten year association with Lake Steam Baths after being wrongly accused of behavior I did not commit. The manager took someone's outrageous story about my "touching" myself inappropriately. It was probably the most offensive thing that has happened in my life thus far. They did, however, invite me back. Go figure. Someone there had way too much steam.

Knowman It is 12/07 and the admission price is now $14.00. Definitely needs a good scrub outside and especially inside all around.Of course the price will go up to keep it cleaner. A real dated and unkempt place. Come on and do it right. Well, good luck, with that task. I suggest the next time that you are in Las Vegas check out the hotel spa's there for only $20 - $25, then you'll know that you experenced a real clean health spa !

LAKE STEAM IS GREAT I have been going to Lake Steam Baths for 5+ years and I have not once seen any inappropriate behavior during any of my visits. Obviously I can't say that it NEVER happens, but I suspect the incidents are few and far between. I go there precisely because it ISN'T cruisy like a gay bathhouse would be. I think some straight men can be so insecure about their own sexual orientations that they "imagine" they are being cruised just because someone makes eye contact in passing. But I digress... the hot tub is t... read more

Inexpensive Massage The one thing you need to know about this place is that clothing is not allowed in the spa or massage rooms! I booked a massage for a few friends without realizing this one important fact. The massage was less than $30 for an hour, although it wasn't the greatest massage ever. You can also go to the sauna or steam room for $8 without getting a massage.

So glad to have a place like the Lakes & yes it is SAFE! Lake Steam baths holds no pretensions, it is what it is and is in a little time warp Could use some updating though and really be a nice place (new tile, new carpet etc) and with some of price increases over the last couple years the Mgmt should invest in the faciltiy.. That being said, there is no other place like it around Denver or even the Mtn states area that I know of & I am glad we have a nice steam bath to go to like the Lakes. The gay sub culture thing is ridi... read more

Creepy but nice Despite the old-world feel to Lake Steam, there's a reason why a large sign reading "We Consider Ourself a Family Spa. Please report any misconduct." is prominently posted in the common area. Why? Because of the predominately gay subculture that comes to Lake Steam on men's days. It makes it quite uncomfortable for us who go for legitimate reasons and not for hook-ups to enjoy it more. But what can be done, really? You can politely ask the guys in the steam room across from you to, um, separate while you're i... read more
