A great place to live and sorry I moved back to Illinois. Staff is very helpful, and every week they have a Lake Oaks bus to take residents to the grocery store. Not much around within walking distance but Lake Michigan is right outside your front door...Pool room, gym, small grocery store in the building and a dog park make this a great place to live...
It's all about location - if you live on the first floor - bad location. Worse if you are on the north east first floor. The buckets of rancid water in the halls and the rodents running rampant through your apt. - it's why I'm on the way out. There are many people who love living here - just not me
I rented at Lake Oaks for a year before buying a house in Racine. It was one of the happiest years of my life! The management was responsive and friendly, and the residents were a diverse and lively bunch. My little dog Arnie just loved it there! I felt safe and secure, and was very happy to have underground parking. I felt proud to invite friends to visit, because the building was always well-maintained and the landscaping was a delight. Many happy memories!
We decided it was time to turn in the lawn mower and snow blower and move into a senior community. We have been here now for 3 months and I can honestly say that I'm very happy with our choice. Faith and Janine are angels and helped us in facilitating an easy transition. Very easy to talk to and always available to speak with us whenever we need to. The facilities are regal and elegant.
