I went to her for a general skin check and no specific concerns. She found a tiny spot and removed it during that same visit. It turned out to be a melanoma. As far as I’m concerned she saved my life! I can’t recommend her enough!!! If I could I’d give her 1000 stars!
My review is of the physician office, as I did not get to see the MD. I had appointment scheduled and received the text to confirm. I accidentally hit 2 (cancel) and immediately recognized my error. I contacted the office right then and spoke with the receptionist. I explained what I had done and she confirmed by appointment on the phone. Dr. Theunissen always seemed very dismissive of my concerns so I eventually stopped going there. Also, they seemed offended by me seeing another Dr. I couldn’t get in for an appointment as quickly as I wanted so I went to another Dr. I later called to schedule an appointment with her and the nurse told me that they can see that I went to another doctor and asked why I didn’t come there. I was often asked if I was on Medicaid when I called or checked in, I am not, never have been. Dr. Theunissen prescribed a foot cream and terbinafine pills for 30 days but mentioned it would be needed for 90 days. I was going out town and requested a refill, she refused without an appointment. I asked for enough to get me through the week long vacation and she said something like I shouldn't expect her to alter how she wants to treat me to convenience me and my schedule. I would not recommend Dr. Theunissen. I took my 5 ye old daughter to her for a visit. We were in her office less than 5 minutes. I felt very rushed and she didn't seem to care. I will not return to her for another visit.
She was very prompt, and performed a thorough examination addressing my concerns and questions without making me feel rushed. I would recommend Dr. Laci Theunissen to anyone looking for a great dermatologist. You can tell that she's very smart, thorough,and well educated in dermatology.
