I volunteered here about 5 years (or more?) ago and my daughter took a class at MSU under the director. Amazing work for a very worthy and frightening cause!!!!

The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking is an incredibly impressive organization with the vision to end human trafficking. A few years ago, I was looking to connect with an organization that focused on ending this atrocity in an effective way that used both data and survivor perspectives. I was immediately drawn to LCHT's research-based approach - they look to data and facts - and also that it is respectful of the people who have been trafficked, knowing that their valuable insights provide the greatest guides. I joined the board of LCHT in 2013, inspired by the founders and their thoughtful and data-driven approach to addressing a challenging and complex issue. Since that time, the organization has continued to mature and expand it's impact both in Colorado and beyond. It truly is best-in-class and provides a unique and vital voice to making a difference in the understanding, and ultimately, elimination of human trafficking.

I am a Board member of LCHT. That might make some think I am biased about this organization. But I joined the Board and say on the Board because I can see in so may ways this is an organization that does top level work in combating the heinous crime of both sex and labor HT. The people associated with LCHT are smart about the topic, hold the highest integrity, and are most sensitive to the issues of survivors. LCHT is genuinely making contributions to eventually eradicate human trafficking!

LCHT's commitment to an intentional, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed praxis is both unparalleled and visionary. The team of change agents approaches anti-trafficking from a research lens that honors lived experiences and her/histories of struggles and resilience by connecting human trafficking to parallel anti-oppression movements. The LCHT Team draws from the strengths of local community to work alongside and in partnership with diverse stakeholders in envisioning a more equitable and just society. I'm proud to walk ... read more
