At the time I submitted one of sputum samples, I specifically informed the technician that this sputum specimen required refrigeration. To help ensure proper handling, I even offered an ice pack that I had brought with me. Despite this, the sample was not refrigerated, which I later learned that the sample was compromised and I have to submit the sample again. I hope this message would help other patients.
