The dentist was rude. I was told by his x-ray technician that he would give me a price for the dental work I wanted even though I needed to bring the information about the implant I have. I was not told this when I called to make the appointment and we spoke about what I wanted. The dentist said I can't give you a price. I drove 30 minutes and waited about an hour and a half to talk to this man. Then, I told him that his assistant told me he could give me a price. The dentist rudely stated, "Excuse me! I am the dentist," and said that he was not the coordinator that handles the prices. Funny, because I have been to many dentists that gave me prices even with coordinators. Then, he proceeded to talk to me with a condescending tone. He shows me a picture of an abutment. He tells me this is what I need, the abutment, and shows the picture of the crown as if he was talking to a child. I tell him the green thing in my mouth as I was referring to the abutment. Another thing, his x-ray technician went out of line. She was doing x-rays and the place looked dirty, so I was grossed out. I heard I believe a worker coughing. There were yellow panels on the roof with white ones as if there were maybe some water damage. I almost told the technician did you disinfect that (the thing that went into my mouth) because this place looked dirty. Therefore, I was making faces. She tells me, "You are acting like a child." I was charged $50 for the visit that I regret and was told on the phone before the visit that those $50 were supposed to be some assurance that I would be there and not be a no-show. I asked about my $50 after and was told that they were nonrefundable. However, there are pictures outside both windows, front and back, saying "free dental exam and x-rays." Please look at the attachment. This condescending dentist has a huge ego and is ill-mannered just like some of his staff. On top of that, there were a lot of people in the waiting room about 5 when I walked in, and the waiting room is very small. There are so much more people in the back room. There are about 10 people back there, and someone is coughing, the place looks dirty, and I didn't see them wiping down the chairs to disinfect after each patient. The place looks old also. I was recommended by the Dentistry Grant and was lured in by false pretenses by the coordinator who said that the Dentistry Grant would give a generous amount. I had to argue my way to get a quote, and I was just asking for an estimation. I was quoted about $1400 for a crown. Then, I was told by the coordinator that the grant was willing to pay $330, so I would have to pay over $1100 for just a crown. This place is so disorganized and unprofessional. It's ridiculous. If you want to be treated like a secondhand citizen, go ahead and go to the circus. I plan to report them to the Dental Board of California and BBB if they continue to refuse to give me my money back. If I am going to pay thousands of dollars, I expect them to respect me for the very least.
