Fantasic Italian Restaurant - a hidden gem La Vecchia Napoli is "hidden" at the corner of River Road and Hilliard in Edgewater NJ. The restaurant has a very family dining feel to it, you walk in and it seems like you've walked into someone's home. One of the Worst Italian Resturants Don't like hurting a business but this has to be said. Cute corner resturant nice ambiance. Small appy portions, very hard to chose nothing very appealing. Roasted artichokes, OK, Calamari with peas OK, Roasted eggplant with buffallo Morzarella OK, exotic mushrooms with broccoli rabe OK. Starving is better than this joint Having had dinner in thousands of restaurants in my adult life, this place rates as the worst ! Want to experience lousy service, combined with an owner who has the personality of a dead fish, you must visit this dump. The only good part was leaving,and that couldn't happen quickly enough. Never again.
La Vecchia Napoli is out of this world The ambiance and cuisine of another place and time, that is what you get when you dine at this charming corner get away. I'd recommend it to anyone who not only enjoys, but also appreciates the taste of real authentic Italian cuisine. I was warned that parking might be a problem, but the valet service was available. This is a cute little restaurant in a cute little town.

My familia weren't so sure if the place would make an impression as we always have passed the place and never tried it and we are so GLAD to have ventured as the place is a gem of a find,the owner,Giovanni was more than welcoming, his warm reception and treatment of guests was wonderful, attentive and friendly, he made sure his guests were attended to . The food was absolutely flavorful and a gem of a find.we will come back! The food was flavorful that I just had to order the menu for next day's lunch.
