Dont ever eat there. We visited our first and last time on 4/8/14 and was charged on our card twice on the 8th and then charge again the next day on the 9th when we havent even been there again. A $30 meal turned into $90 when our account was over charged multiple times. We are currently going through the hassle with our bank and these @ssholes trying to get our money back. Beware!!!!!

I've been going to this resturant for almost two years now. The service there is always great and the food is wonderful. I try a new dish every time I go and im never disappointed. The food is always fresh and of the best quality! The owner is a very friendly and honest person as well. He greets all his customers with a smile and does everything he can to keep them happy. I would definitly recommed you try this resturant out for yourself. You will taste some of the best italian food around!

Since moving to Spartanburg 4 months ago, we've eaten there at least once a week. In that time, we've always experienced good service and excellent food. (However, we're not fond of the sausage on the pizza). Pizza, appetizers, main dishes, desserts... they've all been wonderful!

Half of our table NEVER received their food. The other half of the table had been done eating for 20 minutes before the owner came to apologize for the mistake. Then he was flat out rude when the couple who didn't receive any food said they just wanted to pay for their wine and leave. I ordered the mussels, and ended up with clams. I told the manager about the mix up and he tried telling me they were mussels and that I was mistaken. I work in a restaurant too. I know the difference between mussels and clams. La Taverna is the best authentic Italian Cuisine in Spartanburg by far!! My husband and I were regulars at Renato's but since we've tasted Chef Rosario's(owner) dishes, we have yet to return to Renato's. As far as the cost which is underpriced, it is reasonable for the quality and the generous portions. I absolutely reccomend dining at La Taverna!!!!!!!!

My first visit to the La Taverna was awesome! Since leaving the Metro Atlanta area, I have not been able to find great Italian food. But I have now!! The service was great, the wine was awesome, and the food was kickin'!! I have told many friends about this little piece of heaven. Many of them have raved about how great everything was. MY food was alright (not wonderful) but the other 2 people at my table did not ever get their food. after i had finished my meal we waited another 20 minutes and they still had not recieved theirs. we decided to talk to a manager who prompltly accused us of wanting a free meal (i would not have gone out to dinner if i wanted to eat for free). then he told us that they were not mcdonalds and we could not have it our way. we were in the restaraunt for 1 and 1/2 hours and only recieved one plate of food and our bottle of wine..... read more
