AUTHENTIC, Northern Italian Food... – I read krazytrails 4/07 review and had to respond. First, you should understand the credit card authorization procedure before you bash a restaurant/waiter. The restaurant doesn't control which cards are declined and which arent - your BANK controls it via computer. If the waiter explained that Frequent Flyer cards are getting declined more often it was just a general observation (nothing the restaurant can control). Furthermore, the bank will ONLY speak to the cardholder when it decline... read more

TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL!! – Three of my girlfriends and myself went to La Sosta on a Friday nite to have a mellow evening out at La Sosta. Although the place is quite homey, the acoustics were pretty terrible. We couldn't understand anything our waiter was saying because he spoke with a heavy accent and when we asked for him to repeat what he was saying, he was highly irritated and snappy. I ordered the fish special which was 40 bucks!! I could have prepared this dish myself. My plate consisited of a piece of grilled fish an... read more

I, Blondie – "enoteca": stock of vintage wines. That does not translate into "hip wine bar with 1/2 carafes." Before disparaging the critiquing credentials of others, perhaps you could make sure you know what you're talking about first. You're not the only person who's eaten in Italy.

La Sosta Enoteca – With all due respect iblondie7 must be referring to another restaurant. la Sosta is an amazing experience in every way. What do you call offering you a choice of water? That is an absurd critique. You could easily have said no water thank you or chosen one of the two. The restaurant is never empty and the portions are very normal and the quality of the food is extraordianry. My wife and I are well travelled and food snobs I must admit and La Sosta ranks up there with any. You complain the meats are sliced ... read more

what a treat! – This place is very authentic. It felt like we had been transported to a little romantic restaurant in Italy. True European-style service, waiter was very helpful in guiding our wine and meal choices. The food we had was excellent, both the pasta and meat dishes, just right portions which allow you to leave the restaurant feeling perfectly full and looking forward to your next visit.

Authentic, intimate, a true delight – The first reviewer is way off. La Sosta is a gem in the South Bay which lacks for restaurants that are not "chain-owned." The atmosphere is charming, casual and inviting to sit and linger. The cutting board may be pricey but is fantastic and not something you will find elsewhere. The gnochhi with lobster is sublime, even if you are not a fan of lobster. Go for the meats..we couldn't find a bad one. This is just like that amazing meal you still remember from your last trip to Italy. Try t... read more

Way Over Priced for the Quantity and Quality – Yes we were promptly seated on a Wednesday night, as the restaurant was clearly empty. The waiter greeted us with, "what kind of water would you like, flat or sparkling"? He didn't give us the choice. He was very good at explaining the menu items and specials, not very good at explaining the lack of size of the portions and mediocre quality. Rocca, where are you? Your "affetati misti" a huge plate of the best quality italian meats sliced generously for $18, compared to the "cutt... read more

Fine Italian Dining – High end italian dining with a personal touch. Delicious cheeses and immaculate entrees. The owner and waiters will take great care to guide your choices, including advice on their superb wine selections. Priced a little high, but worth the price.
