This truly is our favorite Italian restaurant. It is a wonderfully busy restaurant that never fails to deliver the most incredibly fresh Italian food I've ever experienced!!
The eggplant parmigiana is the best I had since gennottes was open
La Scarola is exactly what we were hoping it would be...delicious large portion traditional italian in a comfortable low key setting. Very cool place for small groups and families. You won't be disappointed. -NYC visitor

The food and service is everything it should be in an authentic Italian Restaurant. Hard to get in on weekends, heck even on a week night. It is a small restaurant and they take no reservations. Totally worth the weight though. Be prepared for fresh food and hearty portions. Such a fun old time Chicago neighborhood restaurant. Just about every celebrity that you can think of has dined there. If you were raised by an Italian Mother and Nana and want real Italian food....get to La Scarola...it was the closest thing to heaven that I can remember!! It was authentic....as well as delicious!! Thank you La Scarola for not compromising quality with what is cheap and easy!! I loved it!! So says this Italian girl from Cleveland, Ohio!! XOXO

An authentic small Italian joint.. delicious and generously portioned.Reasonably priced wines as well. Greated at the door by the entertaining Chef Armando himself. The place was packed so early reservations are a must. Mangia!!!
