I booked a one night stay for my mom and I to attend a birthday event for a family friend. I have stayed at La Quinta properties before (downtown Chicago and midtown Atlanta). Both properties were superb. The Rockford, Illinois hotel was not superb. The first word that came to mind was dingy. The property was dingy. Our room was dingy. This property needs a major renovation and upgrade. The lobby staff who checked us in and out were very nice. Staff is uneducated. Front desk staff is super confrontational. I would avoid this hotel at all cost. Worst experience I have had at a hotel.
