The door was broken and my mom got locked in the bathroom. Also generally wasn’t very clean

I have been staying at the La Quinta for nine days while my daughter has been hospitalized with a very serious medical condition. During what has been an incredibly difficult time, this hotel became much more than simply a place to sleep. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean, the rooms are comfortable and stylish, the beds are wonderful, and the breakfast is delicious. But what I will remember most is the staff. The room could be cleaner. The sheets had several rips. It's obvious the property used to be a different brand (luxury ish) hotel. The bathroom had red mold. The shower was extremely, and dangerously slick. If i hadn't been careful getting in, I'm sure i would have fallen. I checked in and uploaded everything online, so please explain why i still had to sign paperwork i had already agreed to online?
