We arrived for our 7 pm patio reservations only to be told the patio was closed for a wedding. Why weren't we told in advance?
One of the main reasons we booked was they had a cool bar and outdoor patio area to have drinks and eat. First night we wanted to have some drinks at the bar and were told we had to leave because it was booked for a private party. Annoying but whatever. Second night we headed back to the hotel after being out all day. looked forward to eating out on the patio only to find out IT WAS CLOSED FOR THE WEDING PARTY. The standards have slipped at La Posada. We have been staying there for 30 years and this time was disappointing. We arrived at our room to find both windows were broken and could not be locked, so room could not be secured. After walking back to front desk and requesting a change they sent us to a room with a smaller bed. By this time it was evening and we were heading to dinner but discovered the shower drain was clogged. There was also no fire wood to make a fire.
