RecommendedThey have a new owner, so there have been some changes to the menu. They also have vegan options. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and the food was delicious! The prices were good and the portions were generous. I recommend that you stop in and try for yourself.
My family has been dining at La Panetteria for at least 30 years and have never had a bad meal!
Went here tonight with my parents, brother, sister in-law and my two nephews for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Gamberi Fra Diavolo and it was terrific. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for the closest thing to a New York Italian restaurant in the DC area.

Whom ever was the idiot at the front door is a racist douchebag my nephew and his girlfriend went on Valentine’s Day for a romantic dinner and this idiot at the front tells them they can’t eat there because they are trying to make money, I guess if you’re Latino or have a darker color skin other than white then your money is no good GTFOH �
"Old fashioned" Italian restaurant, as in, racist. If you aren't white, this isn't the place for you. Felt like we walked into the 1950's. Can't even begin to describe how disappointed I was with the service here, and the racist management that honestly made me feel so uncomfortable in my own skin on Valentine's Day. The owner is probably a Trump supporter. Not a place I will be going back to.
