Got an eviction notice for being 7 days late in rent...during COVID! Never have heard of such a policy, no wonder their reviews are so low

Living there was very nice, but moving out was the WORST experience I've ever had! Their sneaky move out charges are outrageous. I've lived in quite a few places, and I've ALWAYS gotten my deposits back and have NEVER had to pay anything upon move out because i take very good care of my things and my homes. At La Paloma, not only did i NOT get my deposit back, but they charged me ridiculous move out charges that they called "damages & cleaning fees". They raise the rent like crazy and you could leave the apartment with just a few hairs in there and you’ll end up with a $1500 bill! For charges that are outrageous! I have never been so disappointed in my life! Even Jefferson Crossing wasn’t as disappointing as this place and the police were there for drug busts and whatnot at least once a week. Man! I would not recommend living in this apartment complex. They over charge you for every thing. My car was stolen on the premises and I was treated as if it was my fault, and I was not treated kindly through that whole ordeal. I was not looking for any compensation because that is what I have insurance for, however I did not appreciate the attitude given when I asked to speak to the property owner personally. This apartment complex rented me an apartment that they would not show me prior to signing the lease. The building (21) previously had issues with leaks and mold. I let them know on numerous occasions that there were problems.The complex wouldn't fix anything, and refused to give me another apartment. I have moved out, and they have kept my deposit, charging me an extra bill for the leaks, which I had already paid. I was not able to stay in the apartment much because the apartment was not livable.
