Hands down, some of the best pastries in Des Moines! When it comes to breakfast, La Mie absolutely nails it. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and it’s always a fun time whenever we stop in. If I could change one thing, I’d swap the bacon for sausage every time! But that’s just personal preference, and it certainly doesn’t take away from how amazing this place is. Great food, great people, and a great experience every time. If you haven’t been to La Mie yet, you’re missing out. Highly recommend!
La Mie Bakery on 42nd St. in Des Moines is an experience within itself. The scents of fresh made pastries are phenomenal, it’s always filled with customers, the views of the many baked products, desserts, salads, and sandwich stacks. They have a deck area in the back that is great place to enjoy your purchase. Highly recommend the almond croissant for breakfast and turkey club for lunch. I am absolutely addicted to the chicken salad sandwich. La Mie’s chicken salad sandwich has ruined every other chicken salad sandwich for me because theirs is so good
