My wife ordered a glass (then the bottle, LOL) of a Moscato that the waitress recommended. She loved the wine, so we wrote down the name of it (Montefiore), but we could never find it sold ANYWHERE. Authentic, delicious and homemade. A rare piece of history and lots of antiques to look at. I would weigh 500 lbs if I lived in Chicago. But their place is a must on our Chicago trips.
Went there with party of 12 to enjoy family dinner. However, our service sucked and the food was cold. We were served 3 or 4 at a time. We kept asking for food for others. We kept asking for more water and their excuse for bad service and cold food was they weren't ready for all the people that came and they were overbooked. Apparently, it's not a good idea to go eat there before a Chicago Blackhawks game. We wanted to complain to the manager but didn't have time since we were already running late to go see a musical.
Best Meatballs period! Very friendly waiteress my favorite Italian Restaurant in the city!
