About this business

This restaurant name means 'little Indian girl' in Spanish and it is affectionately named after chef Maria Garcia, a Tarascas native American from the Mexican state of Michoacan. Most of the items on the menu are familiar ones to most American diners. With burritos, Chicken mole, guacamole, chimichangas, et. al., the menu doesn't reflect much upon the native American kitchen, however the delectable Indian Taco made with fried bread is representative and excellent. Additionally, the menu is quite large and there is always som... read more

La Indita Restuarante This restaurant not only has the best Veggie burritos and fresh aguas de fruta but is also used as a venue to help fund a clinica in Magdalena. So eating there is twice as good for you and helping someone else.

Best Sopapillas and Tortillas Soup EVER My son is a vegetarian, I love soup, my daughter eats meat...we all find GREAT and wholesome food at La Indita. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and the quality is always good, the atmosphere family and friendly.

Worst in Southern Arizona – If you like gristle in your beef, cold rice, water-thin salsa, poor service and dirty floors, this place is for you. You can do better anywhere.

The best place to take a tourist. – La Indita is the best Mexican Restaurant in town. Instead of guests to the typical run of the mill Mexican restaurants that run amock in Tucson, I like to take them here. The menu is vast and has many options that include local recipies and foods. Great place for meat eaters and vegetarians. Everybody's happy!!!!

Ask to sit on the patio... – ...except perhaps in June. The place is a worn around the edges on the inside, but very pleasant outside. I had the chicken mole, which I think was a special and not a regular part of the menu, but that was THE best mole I've ever had.

Drawing heavily on Native American influences, you'll find more than the Sonoran fare served around town. – The Scene: This family-friendly spot has a unique Tohono O'odham take on food styles from the Mexican state of Michoacan, a pleasant deviation from Sonoran fare. The only remotely negative aspect of this charming restaurant is the fact that the room facing Fourth Avenue can get hot in the summer. Instead, opt for the relaxing patio at the back. The Food Mushroom enchiladas could come out awkward elsewhere but seems ent... read more
