Awful Experience! Please read before going to this restaurant! – My husband and I decided to try La Fondue for our annual Valentine Dinner last night. What an awful experience this was!! First of all, I can't figure out why they would say this is a romantic, good date restaurant because the tables are so large that my husband and I couldn't even hear each other to have a conversation. What a treat! – We love this restaurant! This past weekend was my 4th time to dine there and the food/dessert was just as I remembered. My husband and I get the dinner platter for two so that way we can try a little of everything. The cheese appetizer, the steak, the chicken, the salmon - yum! Poor Service Spoils Uncooked Foods – Our evening at La Fondue was highlighted by generally poor service. Our meal of uncooked vegetables and meats took over one hour to arrive at our table. All aspects of our evening at La Fondue were excessively delayed. When we summoned the manager, he was equally unaccommodating and offered a weak remedy. Cheese - pretty good but not great, plus, not enough for three Meat - good, but over priced to cook my own meal Salad - the ceaser salad wasnt that tasty, my cousin enjoyed his mushroom salad. Fondtastic – I love la fondue. I have eaten there twice, once was with 3 girlfriends for a birthday. The food and service was quite nice and the sexy waiter didn't hurt either. The second time I brought my boyfriend for his birthday. We had an awesome time and he loved the cheese, since I heard that someone else had mentioned a no-go on the cheese I thought I'd mention that we thought it was good. I'm actually going to make a reservation to go again soon.
Fond but not in Love – I've had fondue on only a handfull of occasions, none of which were in Switzerland so to be honest, I'm not sure exactly how it's supposed to taste (cheese fondue that is). But i do know what I like and I can tell you that La Fondue has very fresh seafood, very good filet mignon and good sirloin. I don't eat chicken so that might be good as well. A great surprise! – My daughter (7) and girlfriend swung in one Sunday after the Symphony completely spontaneously. The host was great, the waitor was awesome, even considering we had a child, and the meal was splendid in terms of food, ambiance, service, and FUN! La Fondue is now my seven-year old's favorite restaurant, and one of mine too. I plan to go back many times for special occassions!
Fun for groups – I have been here as a couple and also as group and had fun both times. The food is good (just as good as the Melting Pot but MUCH easier to get a reservation!). Fondue is something to be enjoyed over time so the service isn't fast but that is the way it should be! I would particularly recommend this restaurant for small groups.
Always enjoyed – After reading the other review, I figured I'd give another opinion. Yes, I have had slow service here, but never outright bad service. Also, the cheese and chocolate fondues have NEVER dissappointed. I started going here after several trips to the Melting Pot where I was treated like they were doing me a favor letting me eat there. I recommend La Fondue to all, and hope the other reviewer will give it another try.
