My partner and I cancelled memberships in November 2020. We took the paperwork into the location and confirmed with the staff member that was all they needed. Last month (July 2021) we got charged for a membership fee and an annual fee - upon further investigation we also got charged in December 2020. LA Fitness is a bad company. To cancel a membership, you must come into the facility that you signed up with or send in a cancelation form. I work m-f, ***** hours a day, and commute 2 hours a day. I signed up for the membership when I was out on leave with a neck and lower back injury. I don't want the membership because it's not being used. Please do not sign Up for personal trainer at LA Fitness! They rip off your money for what they do not provide you at all! On the evaluation date they showed me very impressive workouts and told me they will provide me with:1)Personal trainer that keeps the track records of my progress and help me with personalized program; change the program as I progress.2)a book completed with workout that guides me to work out by myself through my next schedule with the trainer.3)Provide me with nutrition guide.4)to bring my son to the s... read more

LA Fitness is a scam. When I signed up, you are required to pay a processing fee and first and last months monthly fees. HOWEVER, if you decide to cancel your membership online, they will require you to MAIL a form so I decided to walk in to cancel. I've tried walking in multiple times to cancel and multiple times, workers would say the manager isn't there. The club is nice but they hid the yearly fee they charged me. Tried talking to the club and corporate and no resolve. **** at this gym hung up , I never felt this much disrespect

I bought into a 6 month training program that I wanted to cancel a few days later. Rather than being told about my statutory right to cancel, the manager, Nico, told me I had to pay for a cancellation fee. Because that wasn't in writing, I now have to pay said cancellation fee. I only got one training session where he showed me some basic exercises and that was it. No diet plan, no exercise plan, no tracking. This business is a scam. I have sent CERTIFIED MAIL letters in TWICE. I get the same robotic e-mail about how I have to send in a form to cancel my membership? It is halfway through 2021, IT IS TIME TO UPDATE YOUR PROCESS. Does BBB even allow a 0 star review? This company is stealing from me. They literally refuse to stop charging my bank account. They charged me four times for my gym membership. I am in the middle of resolving that issue and they now charged me $49.99 from their ************ location in *********** I live in Southern **. This is a shady business at best that is hoping their customers do not keep track of their bank expenses so they can steal from us.
