My Mother was admitted to Ladora for a short stay after being hospitalized for weakness. She spent 27 days here and she cried today when she was discharged! ALL of the staff treats you like you are family. The compassion these people have for their patients is outstanding to say the least. I visited every single day and observed as much as I could. My family is certain we have our mom at the best facility for her and us. We wanted a place that would make mom feel at home...LaDora was the answer. Is it perfect? No, neither was living at home. LaDora is a smaller home all of the staff knows the patients and their families. My family loves the fact mom is not left in a room she is in the shared area most of the day. LaDora has been home to my mother for 4 years, it was the hardest decision we had ever made. Looking back it was the best decision. My mom has had the same caregivers for more than 3 years and they take such good care of her. With memory problems having the same people taking care of you is essential. The care, the PT, the food has been top notch for a nursing home. So don’t let the building which is old but well cared for_ determine your decision. The people truly care and take good care of the patients.
My mother stayed at La Dora for a little over a week to rehab following a surgery. She had a very successful rehabilitation. Mom (and our family) absolutely loved the staff from the Director, nursing staff, therapists, food service, techs and activities director. If you are looking for a. Ritz Carlton type facility, keep looking. But if you are looking for a caring and competent staff that will have your loved one’s comfort and care foremost in their mission, La Dora is for you.
The La Dora staff really cares about their residents. Everyone you meet there is kind, and they go out of their way to ensure the maximum quality of life for the residents. My mother requires trips to a specialist once a month. La Dora takes her.
