Its a restaurant inside of a Hispanic grocery store. Don't let that stop you though - its reasonably priced, delicious, and has plenty of options. Its extraordinarily casual though. FYI I was sort of bribed. I ordered a burrito and the owner gave me a sample of Quesobritas con consume (probably after seeing how white I am). Was delicious. Main order was also delicious.
So sad I didn’t know about La Chabelita sooner because it’s SO GOOD! Everything I’ve tried so far has been amazing, their preparation of meat is perfect and they don’t leave fatty parts (big deal for me). If you like carnitas this is the spot, trust me. In addition the owner is super kind and inviting, I love supporting small businesses and good people.
Don't be fooled by the understated atmosphere. It is a gem of a tacqueria in a convenience store. The food and the Mexican staff are wonderful. Open 8am to 9pm 7 days a week. Every dish that I have tried is amazing. Birria beef tacos with comsomme - best I have ever tasted! Tamales and racquitos are great! Prices are totally fair. Try it, and you will not be disappointed. How did it take me 21 years in Beaverton to find this place?
