This hotel was built on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean in 1927 as a retreat for artists and movie stars. The films All Quiet on the Western Front and Evangeline were filmed here. Howard Hughes, Paul Getty, Humphrey Bogart, and Douglas Fairbanks all stayed here at one time or another. For many, it became a quiet escape from the glare of Hollywood. No to the Roof Top! I use to love meeting friends at the Roof Top (part of Casa Del Camin), but no more. After having a friend being asked to move from his table, because the owner is coming and that's his spot. And after having a meeting at the Roof Top meeting space and not being able to get a decent seat for my Exec Team for driniks after the meeting (sat us in direct sunlite) and slow service...No Thank You.
