We worked in the town of Utqiagvik for three weeks and everyone we met was polite and welcoming. It's a lovely community. Then we visited La Bamaba to look for gifts for family members, and were turned away in the most unpolite and rude manner I have witnessed in many years, simply for not living in Utqiagvik. Save your time don't try to visit. Would give zero stars if Google allowed.
I apparently missed a no tourist sign or something because the woman inside pushed me out of the door saying no tourists
