I appreciate the honesty of the HVAC specialists at L&L Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. Two winters ago, my heater was short cycling. The first recommendation I got—from another company—was to replace it with a more powerful (and expensive) unit. The L&L technician instead suggested I try using two-inch air filters with a lower MERV rating to reduce strain on the system and prevent the motor from overheating. I made the switch, and this winter I haven’t had any short cycling problems. Simple fix, great results.
One morning, my furnace was shutting off prematurely, so the temperature could not be increased. I called L&L Heating & Air Conditioning who had installed the unit 13 months earlier. A friendly and knowledgeable technician arrived that afternoon and fixed the problem. The part was an update that they had initiated after our installation, so they didn’t charge me. How nice!
