We came here back in June for a date and I just to pop here and say: It was like the staff was in on a plan to make it the most romantic, sweet, lovely date ever. Had one of the best meals in recent memory at L’Echelle. The Beef Cheeks are out of this world delicious. Our server was on point. The service and hospitality here is a definitely notch above the rest for Portland. I was a little nervous to order the Chicken Liver Mousse since some reviews talk about how oily it was (which to be fair it was) but it really worked as a decadent bite and our whole table happily devoured it. Had two cocktails, one was very good, one was ehhh but pricy for both. Shrimp cocktail wasn’t great. French onion soup was good. Liver mousse was really good but the bread was crazy oily. Salad was fine, nice and fresh. And the duck confit realllly missed the mark. Too dry, overcooked? And very expensive
