Because of its lack of honesty and accountability, I do not recommend L&B. I paid L&B to install a Bradford White hot water heater and Amtrol ST-5 expansion tank in 2021. I noticed a leak from the ST-5 a few weeks ago. Judging from the water stain on the floor, it had been leaking for a while. Requested L&B to come out to fix a furnace that would not turn on. They found a short between the furnace and thermostat after 30 minutes of testing, but said the wiring is not covered under warranty. To my surprise when they wrote up the invoice they said "no charge." It is nice to know there are still contractors out there that don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. My HVAC units were installed by L&B originally, and I am happy to say I can still recommend them.
Mid February, 2025, in the coldest weather, our heat pump was dead after 17 years. After 4-5 estimates, we chose L&B Universal not only because their price was several thousand dollars lower than others, but also because Mr. Lee, President of L&B Universal, carefully examined the heating ducts and vents and suggested to redo them with unbelievably low costs. Our furnace motor broke on Monday and today our heater is back on and working perfectly. They were able to order the part quickly and as soon as it came in the company was able to fix our heater. Mike and his colleague were efficient, professional and did an outstanding job going above and beyond. So thankful to know we can count on an honest company that won’t try to upsell or hustle you. Give them a call! You won’t be disappointed!
L&B were able to come same day for a consult and schedule a next day appointment for a full heater furnace. They guys were professional and worked very hard on a cold winter day. I am extremely happy with their service and they spent time fixing a few minor issues not related to the main service as a curtesy.
