Quiet atmosphere, kind service, but most of all, the fish here (and the preparation) are outstanding. I came for lunch. I had a bunch of à la carte nigiri. Absolutely as fresh as can be. Lovely subtle flavors to enhance each fish. Wonderfully prepared rice. Alongside a delicious hot green tea and a balanced, slightly smoky miso soup and a very fresh and supple wakame salad. No notes!
Blue fin tuna trio and seared salmon belly are very good
The 10pcs Premium Omakase Set, which comes with soup and tea, is really generous and well-presented. I honestly think it’s hard to find a better omakase in the South Bay. My only complaint is that the sushi rice was not good—it was cold and too hard.
We’re Menlo Park locals and genuinely try to support neighborhood restaurants whenever we can. We decided to give Kyosho a try on a Saturday evening after not having been there in years. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had. We were two families with two young kids total and arrived right when they opened for dinner at 5:15 pm.
