Dr. Kunik and staff are simple AMAZING. My son came in for a consult because the previous orthodontist was recommending jaw surgery. That is a very scary word for a 13/14 year old boy to have to even think about. We went in for a consult and was totally impressed with everyone. The plan they put my son on did not include surgery. RecommendedI had braces when I was younger, but some of my teeth have shifted as I've gotten older. I didn't love the way my top front teeth were starting to push forward and was worried it was becoming more noticeable with time. I went to see Dr. Kunik for a consultation and was pleasantly surprised. His staff is so professional and welcoming, and the office is really beautifully thought out and decorated. While the office runs like a well-oiled machine, Dr. Kunik himself seems to busy to develop an individualized treatment plan that takes facial aesthetics into account. He moved my daughter's top incisors up into the maxilla, effectively shortening her teeth, inverting her smile arc, and creating a very unattractive smile. After her braces were removed, only the bottom 1/3 of her top teeth are visible when smiling. Our daughter had braces to correct a deep bite. The final result is anesthetic and Dr. Kunik has told us to come back in 6 months and we would "get used to it". Unacceptable. I did not think I needed to specify that we would like to have an attractive result when we had braces put on.
Kunik Orthodontics is the place to be. I'm not particularly fond of going to the dentist or the orthodontist and I LOVE THIS PLACE! You'll find the best customer service Austin has to offer and professionalism well beyond my expectations. SO glad I didn't go with Smile Direct and shortcut my treatment. Second time around for braces (originally had them in my junior high years) and VERY glad my smile will once again be brand new! And painless. Thank you to Dr. Kunik, Mindy, Veronica and Nina! Oh my, I think I'm back in Kansas... So, I had to have a wire glued down from some work done with another orthodontist years ago. I wasn't in that office more than 10 minutes, but in that time had the most professional and friendly service, and the doctor even stopped by to say hello and chat briefly. This was obviously a very busy day. I just don't do this review thing often, but this doctor is exemplary of what I hope is the future of all medical professions.
