Dr Patra is an excellent doctor easy to talk to. He is very professional. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a good doctor. Unfortunately the office manager his wife is the most rude and mean person I ever met. If you have a balance she will not let you see him or to get refills. I don't know if she understands that some of those medications are very essential to people with mental health issues and we can get sick if suddenly stop taking them. No all of use have ins that covers 100%.

I have been seeing Dr. Patra for a few years. Today, I went to my appointment, and attempted to discuss changes in my insurance with his receptionist (wife?). I made the mistake of starting by talking about what my therapist told me about my copays. She said "Maam, there is a very large difference between therapists and board certified psychiatrists." I told her she did not need to speak to me that way, and she told me I was lucky to be a patient there! I will never go back. Unbelievably rude.

I would NEVER send anyone to Patra. He ABANDONED me when I needed him most. I recently had surgery for colon cancer. I tried repeatedly for over 3 weeks to contact him. I even had my home health care nurse contact his receptionist, I no response from anyone and unanswered messages left on his machine. I finally found someone who cares. Before all this happened whenever I would go see Patra not feeling well he would only prescribe another med. Don't waste your time

I have known Dr. Patra for the past few years and continue to see him for my care. I am immensely grateful to him for helping me through difficult times. He listens and asks questions to clarify. He is very thorough and seems to possess a keen intellect. I love the fact that he is probably the best dressed psychiatrist. I have called his office with concerns and his staff have called back same day with response. He has even seen me in evening for emergency problem with my illness. God bless him.
