I've tried this place fewer than a handful of times. It started out OK, but has just gone downhill from there. The last straw was a purchase of a medieval cutlery set with a leather carrying pouch. The only usable piece is the leather pouch. I bought 3 sets & they came delivered in plastic as the items were well oiled to protect them from corrosion. There is a girl named Nikkie that works there and is extremely rude to customers, she ignores questions and concerns the customer has and is immediately aggressive and mean. When I responded by getting angry as well she acted like I had no right to be, only she can be angry, and she handed me off to another employee who was great, diffused the situation immediately and resolved all problems. I ordered an item from KOA and paid the extra fee for sharpening. When I received the item, i noticed the blade was not sharp at all. In addition, the leather on the scabbard had a big oil stain and the item had other minor defects that would have been easy to spot during a simple QA (quaity assurance) process.I reached out to customer service and after 3 phone calls, I managed to obtain a return label to ship the item back for replacement.When the replacement item arrived, I immediately saw that the blade was not symmetric ... read more

I had a similar sword that I had acquired from a competitor for roughly the same price, and I wanted to see what *** had to offer.I received the sword within three weeks and tested it on a piece of sycamore wood. I have purchased 6 weapons from KOA in the past year, as well as some sword maintenance gear. They invariably have about the lowest price on the internet. They examine the weapons when they receive them and, if they are not acceptable, they sell them at a discount and indicate what is wrong with the item. They are responsive to both emails and phone calls. The one time I had a delay in a delivery, they helped me track it down. The problem was with Fedx, not KOA. I've been buying from Kult of Athena for a few years. They have never disappointed, prices are as fair as they come and they are very accommodating. Shout out to Matt, he went above and beyond to answer my questions and gave me a little more information about items in the shop by trying them on for me since I'm out of state. Loved ordering from Kult of Athena. I ordered some training swords for my son and I to practice and play. From a few sites, their swords tend to be very week and do not even last longer than one session. I found Kult of Athena and their quality was similar to another sword I bought at a convention. So I placed an order but quickly realized that I only ordered one sword when I meant to order two. Kult of Athena has been overall very good to me. I've bought about 6 of their swords from expensive to on the cheaper side. They were all well oiled and taken care of upon arrival, except for one which had some rust. Ryan put my anxiety to rest and was very kind in email. and happily took the sword back and gave me another one that was mostly perfect (blade a bit off center but that's life with swords).
