This was one of the worst medical experiences ever.
Had colonoscopy and eneded up being severly infected! Called KU gastro to tell them I wasnt feeling well they said get to ER. I go to ER they gave pain meds and blood work told me white blood count and neutraphils were elevated. ER did not give antibiotics. Called KU gastro back asking for antibiotics they would not give me any. Later that evening I was severly sick called KU again asking for antibiotics they said no and referred me nack to ER. I called to speak with the on call nurse today for my gastro doctor and he didn't seem to care and told me I need to take my medication which I do faithfully everyday for the last 2 years. Told me I don't need to go to hospital cause they are waiting on my medical records from my old gastro doctor basically they can't do anything for me tell they get reports and records from my old gastro doctor so I'm bout to call my old gastro doctor tomorrow to see bout coming back to his new practice or if there is somewhere else I can b... read more
I try not to be negative, but I just cannot let this go even after 5 years. I had a cecal volvulus in 2019 and a right hemicolectomy. It's rare. 3 weeks later, I was back in the hospital with a blocked small intestine at the surgical site. Fast forward, I'm back trying to work and eat normally, but have constant pain and nausea.
