Mediocre Food and Rude Slow Service – Eat elsewhere there are so many better Thai restaurants in the vicinity. We ate here with a large party. The food was mediocre and the service was terribly slow and rude. The staff and managers actually argued and insulted members of my dinner party, despite the large amounts of money spent. The dishes tasted okay but nothing special, but the portions were very TINY. It was as if a they separated one dish into several dishes. We felt cheated. Parking lot is really small, you may have to ... read more
Roaches Abound this Place – I have to Admit the food here was Good!!! A few things to consider besides the dam roaches that crawl out of the crevices, some of the servers there are jerks, and service was so slow. If you can handle being tossed around with attitude, have a great dinner. I wanted to punch the lights out of the server for being smart when we asked a simple first timers question. Food was spicy, delicious, and great. Pineaplle fried rice was very good.
Tasty Thai food – Not my favorite Thai restaurant in South Bay but the food was decent. My only complaint - parking is a real pain at this restaurant. The parking lot is tiny and is always full. Getting out of the parking lot is very tricky too. On my last visit I had the Drunken Noodle and the Massaman Curry and they were both delicious. The food is on the spicier side. Even medium has quite a kick. I downed my Thai tea in no time. I remember the sticky rice with mango was pretty good but mango wasn't in season. I ordered t... read more
Authentic, tasty, good food; exceptionally poor service – Parking is limited, ya gotta move carefully in the parking lot. Each of the 4 times we've had dinner, there's been a wait (good sign). Staff either can't/won't give good estimate of waiting time. Our 2 noodle dishes (Pad Thai and #43- a wholewheat noodle dish w/ asparagus-fresh, basil on a dark soy foundation) were real good. Veggies were fresh, good use of basil, the chicken was mostly breast meat- a well prepped. The mango sticky rice->dessert, was nicely presented.... read more
Krung Thai Restaurant is the best Thai restaurant that I have tried in San Jose. Their food is very good and also good service.
A bit Pricy – We used to eat in Krung Thai Winchester location, I think the restaurant has declining authenticity of Thai taste. Pricing is rather too high compare to the portion they serve.
EXTREMELY LOUD - but FOOD was good; Volume kills enjoyment though – It's no joke, the place is REALLY loud. We went on a weekday for lunch. It was packed but we did not have to wait. I could not hear myself talk let along my dining companion. The lunch portion and prices were reasonable but I did not order off the lunch menu. The size of my spicy fried rice was enough for two people. I love garlic and can eat it raw. This dish had a tremendous amount of garlic in it. I ordered it medium, which was just the right amount of sp... read more
The Best Thai food I have ever tasted – Krung Thai has THE best Pad Thai I have ever tasted in my life and I live in Los Angeles now. My parents live in Vallejo and I insist my mom drive me down to San Jose to get at least 3 orders of Pad Thai. Great stuff and I am serious!!! Love it
One of the best Thai places in the Bay Area – I grew up surrounded by Southeast Asian food and this is one of Thai restaurant I've eaten at in the Bay Area that I can say is close to "authentic." My test involves ordering the papaya salad (som tom) and if this dish is done well, I can expect all the other Thai dishes to be pretty good - this test has never failed me :). An "authentic" papaya salad can be quite smelly and includes fish sauce, dried shrimp, shrimp paste, and pickled mudfish and can be very spicy (just the way ... read more
